A short run in Balboa Park August 7 2014

On August 7 Thursday, I went to UCSD Thornton hospital to have my right foot X-ray. This was recommended by my doctor to see if anything structurally is causing my plantar faciitis. I then went to Balboa Park for a short run before the table tennis club opened at 4pm. The short run was enjoyable and allowed me to see more of the Balboa Park that I did not see before. I am sure I'll go back again for longer runs in and around the Park. For table tennis, I played with Rodel and beat him 4-2.

9 Mile Run in La Jolla, San Diego, CA August 5 2014

Today I went to La Jolla to run. I intended to park near the La Jolla Community Beach, but it was very crowded. I ended up parking on Vallecitos, north of La Jolla Shores Drive. I tried to run as close to the coast as possible for most of the run. The scenery is quite good, as evidenced by the photos taken during today's run. Even though I have been to La Jolla so many times, I found some good places today during the run. This is one of the side benefits of running. I get to discover more than what I normally would in a place. Smart phones really change the lives of many. It also helps my run to navigate, not to mention the camera in the phone. GPS watch is another great addition to my run. The recorded route and run statistics are priceless. When I look back to my running life later on, the route information will bring back so much memory, which I think is what we get left with eventually.

10 Mile Run in Pacific Beach, San Diego, California August 1, 2014

It's a great run today in a beautiful area. In fact, I have not been to Sail Bay in Pacific Beach. I parked at La Cima Drive and Riviera Drive. The Bayside Walk is just steps away. I was stunned by this beautiful bay. This set me in the right mood to put in a good run. After a few miles, I made it over to Ocean Front Walk, heading towards the PB pier. There're a lot of people relaxing and having fun at the beach. On the way back, I went by Pacific Beach Drive as a short cut to get back to my car since I needed to make to back to work for a 2pm meeting. Today is not as hot as last Tuesday. Temperature was around 25C. My legs did not feel as tired as last Tuesday. My fueling protocol is the same as last Tuesday. I am so glad I got out today to do this run. I saw some good scenery today that I would not have otherwise. I plan to do more runs along the coast line. It'd be pity if I don't suck it all in while I am in San Diego. People pay to come here for a vacation.
